The industrialized nations and industrial revolution have habituated masses of people away from knowing their innate need and right to REST.
When REST is the root of everyone’s nervous system regulating, coming back to our senses,
reducing stress,
experiencing clear thinking (brains back online),
mitigating illness,
existential/spiritual reflection,
of play,
of BEING.
Supporting parents for 28 years, it is crystal clear that the root of much violence in the home (and in society) is due to parental stress/ oppression/the feeling of the machine bearing down/what it takes to survive in this fragmented society.
We remain stuck/contracted/reactive when we cannot rest.
I’m always reminded of the many ancestral healing practices that involve some form of bundling a person up and laying them at ‘the temple’ or home to rest. Sleep being the essential foundation.
The body knows how to recover when resting,
but we have been systematically disconnected from what REST is and how often our organism needs and deserves it to thrive.
To feel peace and remember our full capacity.
It’s so essential to reclaim ourselves from this machine, in any way we can.

Reciprocity requires slowing down, having healthy boundaries on grind culture. We cannot remember our humanity, our interdependence if we are moving at the pace of the machine.

One of the biggest indoctrinations we have in nation state civilization is that we must hustle to survive.
We see this especially so, here.
What does a hustle free life look and feel like?
What would arise out of you if you could just follow your innate unfolding without needing to commodify or package it?

So many of our birthrights are now considered privileges.
Being connected to land, close to our children, having balance/time to rest, play, dance, sing, and knowing our intrinsic worth.
These are birthrights.
Don’t let industrial, modern ‘civilization’ fool you
