Clearing out to create my ‘in town’ healing space,
I came across my foster care case file from age 6-18.
I cried,
I wailed,
remembering the journey
from happy go lucky child to wistful depressed child
(as one social worker noted).
This is why I cut through spiritual bypass like a knife.
For instance, all the people that say “let go of story”
(If you know, you know)
They have no idea what they are talking about.
This is what I mean by naively confident spiritual narcissists.
They have no idea what they are talking about.
For all those who have “well documented” stories like mine,
who were impacted by systemic and generational oppression,
who fell through the cracks and struggle/d to survive.

Thank you all for the love yesterday.
I want to be clear that as I grieved, I held myself with compassion.
This is what I do, how I’ve moved through many many challenges
and how and why I can support many in their self-reclamation/healing.
Your stories matter.
Your real life matters.
And with compassion, we can always see and step into the bigger spiritual picture,
remembering so much love and resource,
but we never never bypass where you came from.

My foster care case file post was meant to be not so much about me, but rather to point to
why it’s ridiculous when privileged narcissistic abusers tell abused and/or marginalized people to let go of their story.
The same way they want to ‘let go’ of reality,
and ‘let go’ of oppression, intergenerational trauma, etc. so they can remain in their bubbles.
Unfortunately I’ve heard of this far too often from those I support.
This can be in spiritual/religious, family, and healing circles, etc.
Let’s liberate ourselves from these harmful lies. xoxo
